T.A.T. Appraisals: On The Cutting Edge of Appraisal Technology
Here at T.A.T. Appraisals, we always try to be on the forefront of appraisal technology. We use the latest technology at our disposal to complete your appraisal without sacrificing quality or accuracy.
The appraisal process has rapidly evolved lately and demands more than ever from appraisers. We put quality first, but we know that turnaround time is a big concern for many clients. So, we've found that the best place to save time is in our our workflow. We strive to be the very best, and we've found that keeping up with new technology allows us to bring you more accurate reports, quicker turnaround times and of course, the very best in customer service.
Innovating the Ordering Experience
Years ago, most of our orders came in via fax and were confirmed with phone calls once we got back into the office. It might be hours before a client even knew if we could do the order. Things are quite a bit different now and when an order is placed on the site, we receive an e-mail on our phones. We often log into this site from the field and send back an e-mail confirmation – including the time and date for the inspection if we've been able to talk to the occupant.
When you order from T.A.T. Appraisals you can expect us to be concerned about your deadlines. We don't make you wait around for replies because we understand the speed at which we get things done directly effects your bottom-line. Through features on this website, we can actually reduce the amount of time needed for your appraisal.
Using Technology in the Field
Gathering the data for an appraisal is an intensive process. We spend quite a bit of time gathering the facts on the subject property and the local market data and trends. Once again, technology has stepped in to help T.A.T. Appraisals.
Instead of using paper forms and pencils and then re-keying all the information back at the office, don't be surprised to see us with a tablet PC or collecting data using an application written for our phones that even lets us sketch a floorplan right on the spot. Rather than using that clumsy old tape measure, more and more appraisers are starting to use laser measuring devices that are quicker, more accurate, and can get into places that normal tape measures have always had problems with.
We combine all of these different technologies to ensure that the final report is thorough and accurate, requiring fewer call-backs and revisions. A real money saver for busy appraisal clients.
Modern appraisal report delivery ensures our clients have a number of ways to get their report
At a very minimum, you can expect us to deliver your final report electronically as a PDF. Generally our clients are most comfortable with receiving PDFs attached to their e-mail. It's a lot faster than the old days before e-mail. But, we've even been able to improve on e-mail with how you receive your report with this website.
Everyone knows how frustrating it is to lose a file. Or have you ever had problems sending or receiving an e-mail because of the file size? We've come up with a solution for those problems, too. Whenever we send an appraisal, the client is e-mailed a download link to retrieve the PDF. By bypassing email completely we can get around any problems caused by file size. And the download link is good for 90 days. So if anything happens to the file, you can log back in here and retrieve it again - saving you time, since we won't even need to run back to the computer.
Lastly, we use all digital workfiles...
It would be much easier if appraisers could never have to think about an assignment again after writing and giving it to the client. However, appraisals are used to document the condition of a property on the inspection date. Therefore, appraisers must keep their reports for 5 years, allowing them to recall any appraisal at any time to either defend the valuation or to be used in other legal proceedings.
Here again, T.A.T. Appraisals uses all the technology available to us technology to improve service. By storing every aspect of the appraisal - notes, sketches, supporting documentation and calculations - along with the appraisal electronically, we skip the old-fashioned file cabinets and only need our computer to recall exactly what that assignment was about.
We just wanted to give you a little bit of insight into how we use our technology daily. Utilizing the right tools, along with the appraisal know-how that you've grown to expect allows the appraiser to collect the appraisal data to finish the report faster and more accurately than previously possible.
